How to Captivate a Diverse Audience with Immersive and Extraordinary Product Visuals
Founded in 2016, Daan Tech is a company from Vendée that develops Made in France household appliances, with its first product being Bob, the eco-compact dishwasher. Alexandra Fièvre, Mélania Ricard, and Leila Amanzougaghene are part of the graphics team at Daan Tech and share their experience with Omi.
Life Before Omiβ¦
Before Omi, we did our own photo shoots since we had the necessary equipment in-house. But this was a very time-consuming solution: each time, we had to set up all the equipment and the right accessories... Each shoot required at least two people for several days. We were therefore forced to anticipate our content needs well in advance and were less flexible. (Learn more about typical product photography costs.)
Another challenge with photo sessions is that if the final result doesn't meet expectations, it is impossible to fix it. With Omi, we can modify our scene as much as we want until we achieve a perfect result, without having to start over each time. Itβs much simpler.
π We were one of Omi's first clients! We were able to evolve the platform according to our needs, and that's fantastic. Today, the application is fully integrated into our daily routine.
1. A Transformed Organization... for the Better!
1.1 Daily Time Savings
All three of us have a graphic design background and are guardians of Daan Techβs brand image, so we are very demanding about the quality of our product visuals! The content creation process is quite lengthy: we do a lot of post-production and back-and-forth with the teams before approving a visual.
For us, itβs important to save time and Omi allows us to do so at different stages:
Creating Templates
One of Omi's big advantages is being able to start from an existing scene when creating a new visual. We never start from scratch! We create a "master" scene that we then adapt: we change a few accessories or the camera angle to create a completely different look while keeping the reflections, lights, etc. We maximize the use of existing scenes, which saves us a lot of time.
Ultra-Fast Content Adaptation
Like all brands, we need to create a lot of content to feed our channels. With Omi, generating content in a specific format is very fast. Directly from our visual on Omi, we can export it in any format instantly to share on our different channels: story, reel, hero... Itβs a real time saver!
Streamlined Organization
When we conducted traditional photo sessions, our flexibility was limited due to the lack of real-time feedback from the teams.
Today, we have great freedom for feedback and are very flexible thanks to Omi, which greatly facilitates exchanges between teams. We can adjust visuals immediately, it's flexible and our creativity is not limited. Projections are also simpler because there is an instant preview of the work done, unlike traditional photography where you have to wait for retouching to appreciate the work... We achieve the expected result much faster.

1.2 Enhanced Creativity
At Daan Tech, four of us use Omi. It's a really great application for collaborating on our product visuals because we inspire each other. It's fantastic because we re-use scenes already started to evolve them... In addition to saving us a lot of time, it allows us to avoid creative blocks. Creativity-wise, it's really great!
To create our visuals, we also let ourselves be guided a lot by the catalog of accessories and templates available on Omi. When we don't have a specific idea at the start, we browse the accessories catalog and often find a composition idea from an object. We can say that Omi boosts our creativity.
2. Diverse Content for a Variety of Prospects
Depending on the target and the objective of the content we need to create, we will create very different visuals with Omi.
The challenge we face at Daan Tech is that our Bob dishwasher caters to very varied consumer types.
In fact, everyone loves Bob for different reasons! Some for its eco-friendly side, others because itβs made in France or for its design, travelers because they can take it in a vanβ¦
We need to attract very different customers so we need a variety of atmospheres and styles in our visuals.
2.1 Realistic Visuals
We need to create "lifestyle" content to allow our customers to project themselves with the product. We need to integrate Bob into different types of kitchens. If we had to rent a different kitchen for each shoot, it would be expensive and require a lot of organization. With Omi, it's much simpler, so we saved a ton on our previous product photography costs. There are many kitchen templates available on the application and a wide range of lights. We choose our kitchen model, set a natural light, and get a realistic result in moments!
What we love is that Omi allows us to adjust the cameras as we wish. We often prefer wide shots to get a global view of the room and let our customers see how Bob integrates into a kitchen.
2.2 Creative Packshots
We also create more abstract visuals that allow us to let our creativity speak and highlight Bob in very "high tech" or even futuristic settings. For this type of visuals, we love searching for original accessories and shapes in Omi's library.
The goal of these visuals is to highlight the product to create a crush effect on the customer. Bob's unique design is its strength. Omi allows us to simply enhance it!

2.3 Visuals Adapted to Resellers
Our Bob dishwasher is sold by several retailers such as Boulanger or Nature et DΓ©couvertes, but also on the Amazon marketplace.
Our resellers regularly need visuals to showcase Bob, so we provide them with a drive containing all the Omi visuals. This allows us to ensure our brand image is respected everywhere. For them, we mainly create very simple packshots and visuals with sober backgrounds that can be easily reused and integrated into their artistic direction.
Most of the visuals in our Amazon store are Omi! We created very lifestyle banners that allow buyers to project themselves into their own kitchen.
π Buying a dishwasher is a significant purchase, so having quality visuals is essential to reassure buyers.
With Omi, we were also able to create a visual for a banner, specifically designed for Boulanger. We were thrilled with the printed result and it received many compliments in-store!
2.4 Attractive Packshots for Prospects
In marketing, we use a lot of Omi visuals to feed our many channels. But these contents are also very useful for our sales team... Our Export Sales Director Romain Lemant used one of our packshots to reactivate prospects during the Halloween period. This simple visual allowed us to reconnect with half of them!
It's great to see that our visuals are a real weapon for our sales force!
3. An Engaging and Conversion-Optimized E-commerce Site
3.1 Animated Packshots and Product Sheets
On Omi, we can replace products on the same scene without having to redo all the settings. We love this feature; it's super useful for having identical packshots!
On the Bob product sheet, we have 34 packshot colors, which can be scrolled through to visualize the different colors of the product.
The visual is crucial on a product sheet; itβs what attracts and makes people want to buy. It has to be millimeter-precise for a successful customer experience when scrolling through the colors.
If we had to create a dozen identical packshots in a photo shoot, it would have been very long and tedious! With 3D, we get a perfect result quickly.
3.2 A Site Adapted to Seasonal Events
Seasonal events are a great opportunity to highlight special offers and boost our sales. Omi allows us to refresh the Hero banner of our site with visuals tailored to each event: Christmas, sales, etc.
For Christmas, we collaborated with the tableware brand Duralex. On Omi, we chose to create a rather sober banner in gray and white tones to make the colorful Bob stand out. As always, we found what we needed in the Omi accessories library: white trees, silver Christmas balls, transparent podiums to recall Duralex glasses... We were really happy with the result!

At Daan Tech, we organize the Colorful Days (our equivalent of Black Friday) every year. For this occasion, we created a banner on Omi with - of course - the neon rainbow. This visual was very appreciated by our customers!
For the winter sales, we adapted the Hero banner again. To save time, we kept some elements from the Christmas style: the background, the podiums, and the trees. However, by changing the rest (lights, colors, and textures), we achieved a completely different visual! Omi allows us to highlight our flagship product in very different atmospheres and surprise site visitors.
Besides photos, Omi also allows us to create product videos very easily. For the winter sales, we added an animated banner to our product pages to highlight the current offer. We simply reused the same scene as our Hero banner to create a video of Bob rotating on a podium. The video format allows us to play with the light and create beautiful reflections on the product to enhance it.
On product pages, this banner with an animated product really grabs the consumer's attention. By using the same visual and colors as the Hero banner, we create a reminder of the offer the visitor saw when arriving on the homepage.
This small video took us 5 minutes to make with Omi, but it's the kind of detail that makes a big difference on the site and helps to convert more easily!

4. On Instagram, Remove the Screen Barrier with Realistic Visuals
Instagram is an important social network for us, allowing us to stay close to our community. We share a variety of content there to achieve three goals:
Create desire with purely aesthetic visuals,
Explain the product and reassure our prospects,
Allow them to project themselves with the product.
Our Bob dishwasher is customizable since you can choose its color from 17 shades. It can therefore adapt to many interior styles and ambiances.
This versatility is a selling point for our product, so we want to highlight it through our Instagram visuals. To showcase the different colors of Bob in our kitchen visuals, we love to match the color of the tiles to that of the product.
π If we were shooting in real kitchens, it would be much longer to achieve... Thanks to 3D, we can adjust the background color with one click on Omi! It's really convenient.
Our followers ask us a lot of questions on Instagram: about Bob's size, colors, technical characteristics... Our photos are also an opportunity to answer their questions.
Bob is a conceptual product since itβs a dishwasher that connects to a tap (but can also be autonomous with its integrated tank). We need to put it in real conditions so prospects can project themselves with the product in their kitchen.
What we love about Omi are the different cameras that allow us to create truly immersive content. Swiping right reveals Bob from another angle. This creates an immersive and original publication!
