How Mon Shampoing gained speed, consistency, and full creative ownership of their product images | Omi.so

Personalized haircare brand Mon Shampoing decided to refresh their website and re-shoot every single item in their extensive catalog. 

If they’d used traditional product photography, this project would have dragged over months or even years — and decimated their content budget. So, they created product images with Omi instead. 

In their first six months of using Omi, Mon Shampoing had: 

  • Published 65+ elegant product images  

  • 30 ‘Digital Twins’ of their products to use in our Virtual Photo Studio

  • 6+ placements for every 1 visual: every image is easily tweaked for different channels 

  • 360° brand image overhaul: all their digital surfaces are lavishly illustrated with quality product shots 

They skipped the excessive time and cost of traditional product photography — in fact, they didn’t pay for a single photoshoot. Instead, they relied entirely on Omi visuals to bring their refreshed brand to life.

Before Omi: long lead times and inconsistent results delayed the sales cycle

Mon Shampoing worked with traditional product photoshoots — but waiting to receive files from the studio took weeks. And when they finally landed in their inbox? They rarely hit the mark the first time around.

Spending extra time and money on post-production was inevitable. Reflections on plastic packaging were hard to manage. Backgrounds weren’t consistent. Colors were off.

Sometimes, when timelines were too tight to wait on external designers, the team even took to Canva to fiddle with the images themselves. 

Not to mention: if the photographer chose props that didn’t fit with the brand, the whole process had to start again from scratch.

Waiting for images, and waiting some more for retouches, slowed down the entire marketing machine. Something had to change. 

After switching to Omi: short turnarounds and immaculately consistent results

The team stumbled across Omi through a social media ad — and the impact was clear right away.

No more dealing with unpredictable lighting. No more long timelines. No more crossing fingers hoping the photographer got the vibe right. Omi created a 3D model of their first product, then the Mon Shampoing team used it to create a virtual photograph.

The team had full control. With just a few clicks they could choose any camera angle, choose the background or use the brand kit, and drag-and-drop any of Omi’s included 6000+ scene accessories. Anything to best communicate the product's essence and deliver the use case.

Then it was just a case of clicking ‘render’.

The results were indistinguishable from a well-polished piece of “real” product photography. Except, for once, the process was as clean as the final image — much more manageable for a team of their size.

With this new approach, Mon Shampoing’s visual identity became: 

  • Balanced. Packshot images created with Omi have a premium look and feel. The Mon Shampoing team also creates DIY-style content of the product in use, shot with an iPhone — publishing both side-by-side, they balance polish with authenticity. 

  • Consistent. With Omi, Mon Shampong can save their favorite backgrounds, lighting settings, and selections of props as templates. This means that products (digitally) photographed years apart can look like they were set next to each other in the studio.

  • Scalable across platforms. In the bad old days, every new use case for an image meant scheduling a new photoshoot  — or at least planning for a lot of retouching. With Omi, one image concept goes much further. You can ‘reshoot’ the same image with new backgrounds, props, aspect ratios, and file formats. Mon Shampong creates Omi images for social media, their website, print media, and even distributes them to their retail partners.
